Visualizing Data

How do figures (tables, graphs, etc.) aid in the assessment process?

Once data is collected the researcher must make appropriate decisions on how to accurately display the data so as not to distort the true meaning of what was found. Additionally, DeMoullin and Kritsonis (2009) posits, graphs are excellent visual aids to communicate information, however without careful design and analysis the visual aids become misleading. It is the intent of this research to provide explanations and the purpose of the most common graphs used when representing data visually. By providing visual displays, data can be more readily interpreted and understood by the reader.
